Directions: From the E&N Railway Station at the corner of Beach and Sunningdale Roads, head east along the path between the Qualicum Community Baptist Church and heritage locomotive. At the end of the parking area keep to the right on Railway Street. Cross Memorial Avenue and continue along 1st Avenue East past the Qualicum Beach Community Hall and Curling Rink to Berwick Road. Turn left just past the tennis courts and follow Berwick across Village Way. Turn right on Sunningdale Road and follow it to the end; turn left into the Heritage Forest and follow the trail along west bank of Beach Creek back to St Andrews Road. Turn right on St Andrews Road, right on Crescent Road East and right again on to the trail back into the Heritage Forest. Keep right past the trail to private property and the trail to Palm Drive (dead end), then, just before the caretaker’s residence; turn right on to the loop trail that runs along the east bank of Beach Creek. The loop trail returns to the main trail on the opposite side of the caretaker’s residence near the largest tree in the Heritage Forest. Turn right on to the main trail at the porta-potty and keep to the right past the trail to Hemsworth Road. Turn left on to Chester Road after leaving the forest, then right on to Hemsworth Road. Follow the Hemsworth Road right of way to Village Way. Cross Village Way and continue on Hemsworth Road to the trail along the E&N Railway. Follow this trail back to Berwick Road then turn left and cross the tracks. Turn right on Second Avenue, go through the pocket park to Memorial and continue along 2nd Avenue to Beach Road. Just before Beach stop into Carriage Lane for a visit to the best little clothing store on Vancouver Island, Walkabout Clothing Co. Turn right on Beach and return to the railway station.
